"I have to tell you another story. C was making courtesy calls to vendors who hadn't cashed old checks (this was a while ago but we just started laughing about it again). So he had to call this one guy who was some bit player on MV. He played a trailer trash guy and lived in an actual trailer park so he had perfect training. The guy never got his check blah blah blah. So C tells him we will cancel and reissue. The guy starts calling him the very next day wanting to know when he is going to get the check because his mom's boyfriend's kid's sister's cousin needs something. He calls up every day until the check is actually sent to him. So a couple of weeks go by and we didn't hear from him again. Then it starts up again, the guy is calling C for his residual checks from the movie! It was fricken hilarious! Because C is trying to be all polite to this guy who thinks his shit don't stink because he is an actor now and all he is is some trailer hick who happened to get lucky and get a gig that paid him enough to cover his meth bill."
I told her I was going to blog and and she replied:
"Make it sound better than how I wrote it though... It came up today because he just called a crew member about a check he hadn't cashed for hotel reimbursement from eight months ago and the guy started complaining he hadn't gotten reimbursed for some gas receipt. Then started telling C his life story and C is like "dude, I just wanted to tell you I was canceling and reissuing a new check for you, I don't care that you bought a new house you asshole.""
People are really weird about their money...
